Got to eat at Harry & Izzy’s Restaurant in Indianapolis. I liked the building feel and layout right from walking inside. In the center they had a circle bar counter for people to sit at. We were seated on the 2nd floor that has an open view to the rest of the restaurant and I am a big fan of being able to see the rest of the area while sitting and talking with friends. It’s nice to be able to see and feel the hustle and bustle of the place. Ok on to the food. As an appetizer I ordered a shrimp cocktail. It came with 4 jumbo shrimp and some very spicy cocktail sauce. It’s worth a try but be ready for a punch. For the main meal I was torn between the surf ’N turf which was an 8 oz. South African lobster tail & 8 oz. filet mignon, or a 45 day aged 14 oz. Ribeye steak. I decided to go with the steak cooked medium rare with a side of mushrooms and Brussel sprouts with bacon. The steak doesn’t typically come with butter on it, as at some restaurants. But the waitress highly recommended it so I got some. It’s different since it’s a special butter they have just for the steak. The steak was cooked perfect and the flavor was exquisite. The steak was easy to cut and came out hot and ready to eat. As far as the Brussel sprouts go, I was not a big fan of them due to the homemade sauce. Seemed like almost a honey type sauce, and I just didn’t like the combination. For dessert I had a taste of their Woodford reserve bread pudding and I would highly recommend it to anyone. This is a high end restaurant with that comes a price tag. $$$$
