We were in the Bayview area and decided last minute to go to Honey Pie. We went during the week when they were less busy. There was no wait which was awesome. Walking into Honey Pie you'll see countertop seating options around the bar area, tables, booths, and an area where they have their homemade pies on display. The restaurant also has an outside patio area in back that is open when the weather is nice. We have been here a few times and something we like is that the menu and pie options change. On to the food. We ordered PORK FRIES: pulled pork, house BBQ sauce, mornay, pickled jalepenos, green onion, bacon, and a sunny egg all on a bed of French fries. The order came out quick, hot, and ready to eat. Man were they delicious, and as an added bonus, it was enough for 4 people to eat. For my meal I jumped right to the pie. Out of the options I went with their TURTLE PIE. It was very good and hit all the sweet flavors. I was very happy with my choice and wanted to take the rest of the pie home to eat for days. Unfortunately the piece I received was the last one of that pie. Shayla ordered the BREAKFAST CASSEROLE: house made biscuit, roasted potatoes, smoked mushrooms, sausage gravy, white cheddar, bacon, topped with a sunny egg. The meal was steaming hot. It was amazing. Every ingredient in this dish brought together for overall goodness. Ultimately, the food is Ridiculousness (as in amazing) and we highly recommend Honey Pie for food lovers. On the weekends it can be very busy and they sell out of the pie in a few hours. Food service was good and the building has a good historic environment to it. Parking can be tricky and potentially takes a little bit to find (street parking only) but in my opinion its worth it. I can’t wait until we can go again and eat some great tasting food. $$ 5 out of 5 stars. 2643 S Kinnickinnic Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53207
